Alvaro Morata issues a severe warning to Liverpool, “I have good memories against you.”

Alvaro Morata is ready to take on Liverpool once more; in their meetings, he has never lost.

The AC Milan forward has an undefeated record against the Reds after spending time at Chelsea, when he ended Liverpool’s supremacy in Europe in the 2019–20 season. He also has two draws and one win from his Chelsea days.

Morata considers his record as Milan gets ready for a match that will bring back memories of thrilling Champions League finals: “I have fond memories of playing Liverpool in the past, but a new chapter is about to begin. We have the duty of carrying the number seven on our sleeve.

Although there is a lot of talent on this team, we still have room to grow. I never imagined that I would play in the inaugural Champions League match at San Siro versus Liverpool when I signed with this club. It’s a contest that once had the potential to go to the championship, one that shaped the history of this sport. We are eager to take the field.”

“We have to believe and not be moody,” Morata continued. We must experiment with our concepts. People in our immediate vicinity won’t believe it if we don’t believe it first. We have yet to demonstrate both our individual and collective strengths. All of us have had fantastic careers thus far, and we are eager to succeed and prove that we are elite athletes.”

Champions League champions seven times Milan has only advanced past the group stage once in the last ten years, and that was two years ago when they made it to the semifinals. During the summer, Paulo Fonseca took over as manager of the San Siro from Stefano Pioli, after his team had struggled to start the Serie A season. After two draws and a loss, they won their first game of the season on Saturday, defeating Venezia 4-0.

With only 20,000 tickets left on Monday morning for a stadium that can hold 75,000, it seems unlikely that the San Siro will be packed for the match.
