Nick Chubb, the running back for the Cleveland Browns, is still listed as physically unable to perform (PUP) pending his recovery from a horrific knee injury sustained in Week 2 of the previous season.
It appears that this status will persist for some time. Regarding Chubb’s projected comeback date, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski has recently shown a lack of commitment, and the running back hasn’t really given his all in the offseason and during training camp.
It is now confirmed that Chubb will not be ready for Cleveland Browns Stadium’s Week 1 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. Chubb will have to miss at least the first four games of the 2024 season if he stays on the PUP list to begin the season, which is the plan, as first reported by ESPN.
“I’m not going to get too far down the road on that type of stuff,” Stefanski stated. “I get to see him work out every day, I’ll tell you that. He’s not moving too far down the road, but he’s doing everything that he should be doing and more.”
With Pierre Strong, Jerome Ford, and D’Onta Foreman in the mix, the Brown running back group is quite deep. However, none of them can match Chubb’s terrifying demeanor, an outstanding player in his prime.
For their Sunday, September 8 matchup at Cleveland, which is scheduled to be FOX’s Game of the Week, Dallas is rated as a one-point underdog.
