Breaking: Cowboys and CeeDee Lamb agree to a 4 years $138m extension.

CeeDee Lamb is here to stay.

The Dallas Cowboys and the standout wide receiver agreed to a four-year, $136 million deal extension, according to a Monday report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. His contract, which supposedly includes a $38 million signing bonus in addition to $100 million guaranteed, places him as the second-highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

25-year-old Lamb has persevered since OTAs. Lamb expressed his disapproval on social media earlier this month, despite team owner Jerry Jones’ insistence that he didn’t “have any urgency” to complete an extension.

With a four-year, $140 million agreement earlier this offseason, Vikings standout Justin Jefferson is now the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL, with Lamb coming in second.

After selecting Lamb with the 17th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Cowboys have already selected him to the All-Pro team three times. 2023 was his best season to date, as he recorded an NFL-high 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns, which earned him a first-team All-Pro nomination.

Lamb’s contract has been extended until the 2028 season as of Monday. On his fifth-year option, which will pay him little under $18 million, he will participate in the 2024 campaign.

Lamb’s contract status was one of three important Cowboys players that were in doubt. After the 2024 season, quarterback Dak Prescott is still unsigned, and the Cowboys are unable to apply the franchise tag to him. To keep linebacker Micah Parsons with the team until 2025, the team selected his fifth-year option.
